The course familiarizes Ontario workers with WHMIS which stands for Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System. This system is designed to provide health and safety information to workers about the hazardous materials or controlled products in their workplaces. Participants will learn about WHMIS symbols and their meanings, labels on products, and material safety data sheets (MSDSs). The course also provides practical advice for how to safely handle hazardous materials on the job.

This course will provide the participant with the necessary knowledge of proper propane
handling, changing and storage.
Participants will:
• Be familiar with legislation and regulation requirements for propane handling and
the dual components (Theory & Practical) of propane handling training.
• Be familiar with the characteristics of propane, propane expansion, propane
cylinders and temperatures, the major hazards of propane, propane’s flammability
range, the appropriate liquid propane filling level and liquid and vapour propane
systems.
